"When you ride hard on a mountain bike, sometimes you fall, otherwise you're not riding hard." - President George Bush, July 2005, following a crash into a bike cop at the G8 summit, Gleneagles, Scotland

The Team

Andrew

Andrew - Instructor

Andrew is an SMBLA qualified and experienced outdoors leader, coming from a military background, he has many years of outdoor leadership experience in arduous and challenging circumstances. First Aid qualified and with in-depth local knowledge, Andrew is our local expert.

Stuart

Stuart - Instructor

Stuart is First Aid qualified, a SMBLA qualified leader and a qualified military Physical Training Instructor. Stuart competes regularly (most recently at Mountain Mayhem) and can be guaranteed to enjoy leading over some of the most remote and challenging terrain the UK has to offer.

Lynn

Lyn - Instructor

Lyn is a qualified SMBLA leader and ladies leader. First Aid qualified and with an understanding and positive outlook, Lyn can be guaranteed to lead our ladies groups on some of the most tranquil and awe inspiring hills that Scotland has to offer. Lyn also leads male and mixed groups with the same style and focus.

Brian

Brian - Instructor

Dangerous Brian has a love hate relationship with his bike. He loves it and it hates him! For a qualified instructor to spend so much time airborne either shows a total disregard for his own safety or reassuringly an ability to safely push the freeride envelope!

Dave

Dave - Instructor

Dave has extensive and in-depth knowledge of the Scottish Landscape. Qualified SMBLA leader and First Aid trained Dave goes up the hills all the time anyway and working for us means he gets paid for doing it!

In these days of explosive growth within the Outdoors Leisure Industry, it is easy to set up a MTB guiding business.

But how easy is it to set up a business using full time and qualified instructors rather than a group of blokes who just do it on their free weekends? How easy is it to insure this business? How easy is it to still be there in six months?

We are all qualified and dedicated mountain bikers who sometime ago decided to pack in the rat race and go for it. Surprised by the varying and sometime scary standards out there we made a decision that it had to be a professional, successful, stand-alone business that whilst being profitable was enjoyable, cost effective and practical for our customers (and gave them that little bit extra).

With us our instructors are staff positions not casual employees, they are insured and qualified both on the bike and all of them are current HSE approved First Aiders, they have extensive experience of the outdoors and specifically mountain biking.
